[edit] Done enough essentials for tonight

Moved the cat:RU text to new cat:Ru as discussed - where half a dozen other categories magically appear because I had copied and pasted their cats from WP. Redirected the RU page to what was already the more substantial Ru page. Clearly from WP so it now has its acknowledgment, as have a couple of others.

I can't think of anything at present that would be better with two people working on it. I can just dabble in the links on Category:Wikia maintenance and talk to you if anything isn't obvious or I want to suggest a line of action or style.

Be specially nice to those new contributors. You'll notice I added my block of quicklinks to the welcome template. Maybe you can add an image to it (|right|thumb| probably best). Commons probably has something if there's nothing useful already here.

I think the MediaWiki:Sitenotice is a bit heavy and monotonous.

Hi there, I just joined the project and wanted to say hello :) I'm on Wikipedia as well, under the same username, and I was curious as to why you, as a 'crat, don't have oversight/checkuser powers. Can't you assign those to yourself?
